Background:
To combat the negative impacts of the drastically increasing amounts of plastic waste in the recent decades in India’s environment, the Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW) has joined hands with GIZ to support the reduction of plastic waste entering the environment of the two Ganga cities of Haridwar and Rishikesh in Uttarakhand.
The objective of the project Aviral- Reducing Plastic Waste in the Ganga is to reduce the plastic waste entering the cities environment by strengthening an integrative and improved plastic waste management system in these two cities. The efforts will also contribute to achieving the objectives of the flagship programs of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (Namami Gange) and the Clean India Mission (Swachh Bharat Mission).
Objectives:
The purpose of this Tender is to appoint a Contractor for undertaking the work of construction of one Material Recovery Facility (MRF) at Sarai Site in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The total area of 1500 sq. m is allocated by Haridwar Municipal Corporation.
The MRF is intended to serve as best-practice examples for semi-automated MRFs, for both technology set-up and occupational safety. The capacity of the MRF shall be 5 tons per day, considering an average operation time of 10 hours per day including breaks. The purpose of the MRF is weighing, sorting and further processing of dry waste from residential and commercial areas as well as legacy waste of Haridwar.
(i) Carry out the entire task of the construction works as per specified design / layout and Bill of Quantity / specification mentioned in scope of works.
(ii) Coordination with internal and external stakeholders like Project Team on ground at Haridwar and selected Architect etc during execution and implementation of the construction work.
Tasks of the assignment:
Construction of MATERIAL RECOVERY FACILITY AT SARAI SITE IN HARIDWAR . The selected firm will be working in close coordination and supervision with a GIZ identified agency .
The bidding firm will have to submit the proposal in hard copy and in a sealed envelope to Head of Procurement, GIZ Country Office, New Delhi – please refer to the tender documents and follow the instructions carefully.
